Outgrown Sales 101

I was unaware of these amazing sales when I was pregnant with my daughter, but these sales can save you tons and some have some nice quality items. It is also great because you can consign your old things to get new. The key is to find out which are the good ones, and to GO ALONE! If it is possible for you to go without your child it is a major plus. Let me explain; A group of crazy shopping hungry mothers who assemble teams to shop. Yes, it is like a mad house and if your not there before the sale opens, say goodbye to all the low cost great items. My advice for planning to attend an outgrown sale:

-If you are planning on collecting numerous items (mainly strollers, swings, etc) then you need a friend or family member to come and help you carry them.

-Bring your own reusable shopping bag in case the sale doesn't provide them.

-Go in with a plan, which items do you really need? You need to target that area first and then move on to the others.

-Be prepared to be elbow to elbow with other moms and you may actually feel scared while shopping because of the rush of moms.

- Make sure you have a clear trunk or backseat.

In my area I usually use playgroundbuzz.com to find all the local consignment/outgrown sales. However you can find mom sites for your area that will list them all. Also don't think your child is too good for already used items. The expense of toys, and baby items can be costly and many of these items are gently used and almost new. Good luck!
