Motherly Instinct

After going through a wicked cold and ear infection with my baby, I though we were out of the woods. My daughter about two days ago began to become increasingly cranky and upset, last night and today the screaming began. I immediately knew she was in pain and I knew something was wrong. I took her to a different doctor in the practice, and was told reflux wasn't the issue most likely. Well today I called and became bitch mommy, and demanded my doctor. She saw him today, and guess what, reflux is back full blown. I had to watch her in pain all day, which is misery for a mother. In addition, I have had about a month of insanity from illness and now reflux, and wow do I need a vacation or something ;) I am just happy that she will be feeling better soon and I am hoping she can kick her allergies now or mini cold because my baby girl needs to bounce back to her happy go lucky personality. She is the best and happiest baby and I miss seeing that in her. I am definitely going to go with my motherly instinct from now on because every time I ignore it I am right. I also realized I had a best friend and never knew it! Prevacid for my baby!

  1. I'm not knocking you're choice to breastfeed or not (lord knows how personal that decision is!), but that's a large reason why you have so many trips to the doctor. Breast-fed babies are less susceptible to illnesses such as ear infections, disorders of the digestive systems, allergies, colds, flu, pneumonia, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, etc. So before anyone jumps on you for your decisions or that you're getting the baby sick, it's just a choice (based on many many things) and babies get sick. Thankfully, we have modern medicine and formulas that are getting better every day.

  2. I agree breastfeeding is helpful and beneficial. Unfortunately due to a disease I have and medication I am on, I am unable to breastfeed.
