I took my baby girl today for her 4 month check up and she is 14lbs, 26.5 inches long! It was so amazing because I looked at her on the table laughing and smiling and kicking around like crazy and stood watching in amazement. I remember bringing her there only a week old, and she was so tiny and I was so scared I would break her! lol. It is amazing how quickly she learns and grows, it is absolutely amazing to watch and be apart of it. She is now trying to sit up, and can hold her up very well. She has to put everything possible in her mouth to chew and suck on, and she can reach out and grab things with both hands. She also knows how to kiss :) When I say, "Mommy is giving you a kiss" she opens her mouth (that is her way of kissing). Also today, she ate her first rice cereal! It was so neat because she actually ate it and liked it and didn't really spit anything out. I look at her baby book as I update it, and realize she is only 4 months old, and already so many things have happened. The time has gone by so fast and she has changed and grown so much in such a short time. I am cherishing every day with her because each day brings new experiences for her. Although at the end of the day I am exhausted and ready for me time, after I rest up I look forward to seeing her in the morning.
I love hearing her talk through the monitor to my husband and I and I come in and she smiles bigger than any smile of the day. She is so happy to see my face, it is the most rewarding and untouchable moment. I feel so lucky and fortunate to have her in my life and although it is work, it is worth it. I know I write about my stresses often, but days like today make me realize it is all worth it and a miracle.
I had to laugh (cause you know I like picking on you) ... "and I come in and she smiles bigger than any smile of the day ... " -- but how do you know? LOL She could be smiling bigger at Jon in secret :) Kids like to do that ... ya know - annoy their parents. I know they start a lot of things earlier these days LOL
