The angry "SHHH the baby is sleeping!!"

If your a mom, you know this phrase very well. "SHHHH the baby is sleeping! Don't you dare wake her!". It is so funny because even if I am out shopping or running errands with the baby, I find myself almost wanting to SHHH complete strangers. People walk up and go, "OHHH she is so cute!" and I almost want to take them down to the ground. The precious moments that baby naps are untouchable moments for a mother. It then becomes OUR time, which is a rare and special time during the day. If your at home you get to catch up on laundry, washing bottles (I hate washing bottles!), cleaning...or relaxation. The chance to sit down and breathe and finally receive the well waited, "me" time. I find that when my husband is home and running around the house I am constantly saying, "Don't you dare wake that baby!". I am so thankful we don't have a doorbell because I would make a sign for the door if we did, lol. I find these moments the only time I am able to recollect my head and remember I am more than just a mommy :) It is a gift only a baby can give to their mommy, but when they wake up (given they took a good nap and not a quick one) we are so happy to see their smiling face :)
I find I sometimes forget about myself; the lack of sleep, forgetting to eat, and pee for that matter. In addition, my two cats love this time cause they actually get a nice rub and some well needed attention. Thank goodness for naps!
