Okay well as every other parent I was thrilled when my baby became mobile. However now I am reaping the benefits of my little angel being into everything! I have had to redo our downstairs because she finds a way to get into and grab everything! Pulling up, finding things under the couch, and loving electrical wires (which I of course fixed immediately). At the moment we are dealing with being upset by the word, " No no" and cutting a tooth a week! We are onto tooth number 8, and every time I go in to inspect I almost loose a finger. I know I am venting, but I do adore this stage because it is amazing to watch her grow and learn, but heart wrenching as she approaches her first birthday. Needless to say, she is on the prowl and I cannot turn my back for a moment. As all these new firsts are beginning, I decided to buy some toddler parenting books. So far I am a little early because they address many issues we have yet to tackle (thank goodness). I got, " The Girlfriend's Guide to Toddlers", and "The Happiest Toddler on the Block". I read the " Happiest Baby on the Block", and thought they had some great ideas and concepts, so naturally I decided to read the next book. I cannot seem to find the exact info I am seeking, but I am sure I will figure it all out.
Recently I tried to introduce the sippy cup yet again (which has been a hunt for the perfect sippy cup that Irelyn will love). I think the Nuby one with the soft straw seems to be good, but I am not sold yet. Also we are trying to transition to real food which seems to be moving slowly which I actually do not mind. My baby seems to take her time with things which shows me she is incredibly smart and evaluating everything! (that is my concept and I am sticking to it ;)). We also have flipped the car seat to facing forward, and she loves that. She has a better view of mommy and can watch the road which she seems to enjoy. I have lucked out with her in the car, she is an absolute angel in the car which I am thankful for all the time.
Sorry to jump off subject, but back to growing and learning; I am noticing I have to get her out more to be active so keep her occupied. I guess I must seem like a lazy mother by making that statement. I try to get her out as much as possible, but some mornings its hard to kick into action, as we all know :). The journey continues, and is always fun and amazing! with a tad bit of insanity and loss of patience.
