Those of you who are familiar with Buckley's Tavern know that they will be closing their doors this weekend on January 15, 2012. This will be a devastating day not only for the employees there, but every employee who worked there and every customer who always showed their devotion for Buckley's. For those who are not familiar with Buckley's Tavern, let me tell you in my own way. Buckley's Tavern is an amazing restaurant full of timeless memories, good food, traditional decor, and amazing people. It has been open since the 1930's and also was my place of work off and on since 2005. I remember when I was younger and would visit my family in Chester County and we always had to visit Buckley's Tavern for a meal. Whenever my family would visit to this day, it was almost a requirement that they had a meal at Buckley's during their stay.
I was introduced to Buckley's as an employee in 2005 and worked there for two years and then was brought back during my time of unemployment after being laid off my career. Buckley's was always a home away from home. Dave Weir is a name well known in our family back dating to the seventies through friendships and past employment with family members. Dave has always been there for me as a boss, and a friend. He always accommodated me during my times of unemployment and I will be forever thankful. The re pore at Buckley's was always as if we were our own family. I met some of my best friends while working at Buckley's, and I will always relish in our memories working together. After my husband proposed to me, we had to celebrate at Buckley's because it made it perfect. There is no restaurant that could replace Buckley's or even move into its spot. I will always hold a dear place in my heart for my home away from home.
As everything must move forward, so will Dave Weir and any new restaurant he opens in the future. Life is a circle and all things must come to an end, but will never be forgotten.
