Life is Sweet

They told you life is hard
It's misery from the start
It's dull and slow and painful

I tell you life is sweet
In spite of the misery
There's so much more
Be grateful

Who do you believe?
Who will you listen to
Who will it be?
It's high time that you decide
In your own mind

Tried to comfort you
Tried to tell you to be patient
They are blind
They can't see

Fortune gonna come some day
All gonna fade away

-Natalie Merchant "Life is Sweet"

I dedicate this blog to my hubby. I always hear this song and love the positive ring it resounds. I think life can be very difficult for everyone at times, and its hard to look up and around to see what you have and to be thankful for. I am guilty of acting and thinking negatively when things aren't going well or the unimaginable seem to happen. During this time in my life, I see so many friends and family going through tough times. It is either attributed to the economy, job market, or family difficulties. I have no solution to help "look on the brighter side of things" except until recently. My own solution may not be for others, but it is my daughter. My daughter is always happy, playing, smiling, saying she loves me, and she takes away my mind at time from the turmoil. I also believe it is the same for my parents when they are around her. The innocence the radiates from a child is contagious and I am so thankful for that. I have always said my daughter has changed my life, and I have changed as a person since having her. However, as much as we love our spouses and lean on them for comfort, love and support. Unfortunately it doesn't always make everything better, but it does help. It is just that when your raising a child, your attention is directed on caring and loving them, and it makes you go through periods of literally forgetting whatever was eating at your mind for periods of time.
Life is sweet, and it no one said it would be easy, but we have to make the best of it every moment we are given.
"Without a noise, without my pride, I reach out from the inside...."- Peter Gabriel "In Your Eyes"
