Mom-Heart of the Home Event

Today I was privileged to attend my first Mom-Heart of the Home Event in Chester county. Taken from their website; MOM - Heart of the Home Ministry is a movement for spiritual renewal in the Roman Catholic Church. It is dedicated to Mary, Our Mother. Mary, a Woman of Peace, intercedes for us as we seek to bring peace to our families, and to our world. Through days of Renewal and other spiritual opportunities, this movement rejuvenates, elevates, and empowers motherhood. Designed for, by, and about mothers, it builds community through newsletters and various projects."

I am a Roman Catholic, and I decided since I am a new mother, that it would be helpful and inspirational to try out the event. I truly enjoyed it more than I can say I expected. I met a large group of wonderful women (mothers) who were incredibly kind, and motivating. I was privy to hear keynote speakers speak about their life struggles and how they got through them through prayer to the Blessed Mother and God. It allowed me to take a long look at myself and how I interpret prayer and devotion into my life. I realize a lot of my friends are not Catholic, but it essentially is an event to show you the power and tranquility of prayer and how it helps your journey through life as a mother. It is amazing to hear other women's stories about life and how they made it through crisis events in addition to everyday life stresses. It opens yourself to hope and confidence to face life and get through everything in your life. I was truly inspired and touched by this event, and I encourage any of my Catholic mom friends to check it out next year. It doesn't matter if you are a devout catholic or not, because it will allow you to have a day of reflection, advice, and examine your own personal relationship with God.
