I think we are going down the reflux path once again with Irelyn. I was hoping it was over, but after embarking on a bad cold, the symptoms have crept back up again. Actually no, they smacked us in the face. My poor sweetie has had a bad cold and cough and a minor borderline ear infection, and apparently a flair up of her reflux. The past three days have brought back bad memories of screaming days and nights when she first got reflux. I think it tests your patience as a mother, which is never any fun. I finally hit a burst of tears and a mini breakdown from nerves for about 5 minutes. Then recollected and turned out to be okay, which is something I have learned to do over the past 8 months being a new mom. It is definitely a process that is learned and cannot be adopted easily. I feel like when my daughter is sick and going through rounds of crying and misery, my entire life gets put on hold. Laundry has piled up, dishes in the sink and lack of groceries. Oh well...what can you do. She comes first and as a mom you become consumed with your child, which is a culture shock right after you give birth. However, the consumption is a tiny bit bitter at times, but mainly sweet. I am looking forward to some calmer days this week ;)
