Merry Stress, I mean Merry Christmas?

Another year has passed, and it is Christmas Eve which is suppose to be a happy and joyful time for you and your family. Unfortunately the stress of family for many seems to ruin holidays, which is frustrating and sad. I recently read an article and decided to take some advice, "Just Say No: If seeing family causes great amount of stress sometimes, its okay to say no sometimes. Celebrating with your partner and kids can be a wonderful alternative to seeing people who make you feel constantly stressed" How to Handle Family Conflict and Holiday Stress. It is heartbreaking when you truly love the holidays and attempt to make the best of them, and they are brought down by family drama, which I don't think can ever be improved or avoidable. However, in the sake of keeping holidays special, especially your children, you have to preserve their happiness which sometimes can be a direct result of your happiness. I think the hardest lesson I have learned in life is how to give up. I know that sounds ridiculous and sad, but you cannot make someone change and you cannot give someone a personality makeover unfortunately. I think that deciding to minimize every possible dramatic situation is necessary especially in a marriage, when you have more than your own family. I hope everyone has a stress free Christmas full of love and happiness!
