Since I have become a mommy I have had so much change, it makes my head spin, but usually in a good way. However, I was thinking of all the things people without kids take for granted...
-Taking a shower without constantly checking and listening for your baby
-Running out to the store for a few things you forgot without a diaper bag and infant carrier
-Last minute plans with your girlfriends to go out for a drink or anything past 6pm
-Sleeping in on the weekends
-Not having to do laundry but once a week, instead of every other day or every day
-The beauty of having clean clothes all the time (without spit up all over them)
-Watching an entire movie without thinking of what you need to do to prepare for the nighttime feedings and morning
-Talking on the phone for a length of time
-Not having to clean every single day
-No time to pee...I literally forget I have to pee
The things I love and never knew....
-My baby smiling and laughing in the morning when she wakes up
-Having my baby fall asleep on my shoulder
-Being able to smell the baby smell all the time
-Picking out cute outfits for my daughter (I adore having a little girl)
-Taking a million pictures and never getting sick of it
-Seeing her hit all the amazing milestones in her life
-Being able to have a little person who came from me
-Watching her sleep (every parents adores that time)
There are tradeoffs to everything. You will never know what it's like to live with what I have. I don't want kids, so perhaps I don't know your struggles ... but it doesn't mean I don't have them.
ReplyDeleteAnd who are you kidding - I have never watched a full movie with you that wasn't in the theater. That has nothing to do with your baby! LOL
